Peter Anderson to train Afghanistan

Australian coach Peter Anderson has joined Afghanistan cricket team in Kabul for training ahead of ICC World Cup 2015. Anderson is excited to take this job after 2 year stint with Papua New Guinea. He believes Afghan team has got the talent to learn and progress in this competitive cricketing world. He told press, "I hope I can make a contribution to the quality of cricket here. I will start slowly, watching, listening and learning". 

Afghanistan Cricket Board head Noor Mohammad Murad was pleased to have Peter Anderson appointed as new coach of Afghanistan and bringing his 35 years of experience in training Afghanistan cricket team. Anderson will take on his role in new academy where he will train young players as well as players in national squad.

The International Cricket Council has given $1 million funding to each of four World Cup qualifiers - Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Scotland - and has arranged training camps in Australia and New Zealand later this year.
