Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz in Test Squad:

After superb batting performance by Babar Azam in ODI series against West Indies, chief selector Inzamam-Ul-Haq picked him in Test squad. Apart from inclusion of Babar in test squad, Mohammad Nawaz has been given an opportunity for his test debut. Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz prolific ODI form convinced selectors for their test call up. Babar Azam is top order batsman and he has opened in first class matches. Mohammad Nawaz is left arm spinner and a batsman who is required to bat at lower order. Both Babar and Nawaz are selected for PAK v WI 1st Day-Night test match and they are most likely to do their Test debut on 13th of October, 2016. Pakistan has picked Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz for Test match.

Younis and Hafeez Not in Test Team:

Pakistan experienced middle order batsman Younis Khan is still recovering from dengue virus and he is not part of fixture. Misbah-Ul-Haq will be back in Test squad and will lead the team once again. Pakistan test squad includes five specialist batsman and might go with five specialist bowlers or four specialist bowlers and two all-rounders. Mohammad Hafeez suffer injury in Pakistan away series against England and played in domestic cricket after recovery. He scored 0 runs in PCB Patron's XI v West Indies in Sharjah and is ignored for test selection. Mohammad Hafeez is not part of current Test series against West Indies along with Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood.

Pakistan Test Squad: Inzamam-Ul-Haq has announced test squad for Pakistan v West Indies Test series 2016. Misbah-ul-Haq will captain Pakistan test team, rest of squad includes Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Imran Khan, Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Sami Aslam, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket keeper), Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar, Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz.

Babar and Nawaz First Class Record:

Mohammad Nawaz has played 29 first class matches and score 1440 runs with 33.48 batting average. Nawaz has made three centuries and 7 fifties in his short first class career. His bowling average is bit better than batting results. Nawaz has taken 44 wickets from 29 matches at an average of 24.40. Babar Azam has scored 1522 runs from 26 first class matches at 41.13 batting average. Azam convinced selectors to give him a shot in Test cricket after his three consecutive ODI hundreds. Mohammad Nawaz caught selectors attention with his all-round performance in ODI and first class cricket. Chief selector of Pakistan, Inzi said, "We have been searching for one who can bat in the lower order and bowl as well. And if you look at Nawaz, he has got a good first-class record. Pakistan will play maiden Day-Night Test match against West Indies on October 13, 2016. It will be both teams first D/N test match in history. And Babar and Nawaz are likely to make their Test Debut against West Indies.
